The Beginning of Revival in Argentina.

A young man named Alexander and his group of rebels sat in the front row of a revival meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the intention of causing disruption. God convicted him, and he repented. His gang started to leave but was overwhelmed by the Spirit on their way out. All of them surrendered their lives to Christ. Later, two of them attended the Bible school where Ed Miller taught in the small town of City Bell, just outside Buenos Aires. In June 1951, the Lord guided Pastor Miller to cancel lectures so that the entire Bible School could dedicate themselves to daily prayer for their nation.
Alexander, the former rebel, was still praying long after midnight when he felt a strange sensation of something pressing down on him. A brilliant, intense light surrounded him, and a heavenly being appeared. The boy was terrified and ran back to the Institute. ‘The heavenly visitor’ entered the Institute with him, and soon all the students were awake, filled with a fear of God. They began to cry out in repentance as the Spirit of God touched them. The next day, the Spirit of God came upon Alexander again, giving him a message to encourage them to pray for God to come in a new way to Argentina.
The Bible school became a hub of prayer until vacation time, when teams traveled to preach across their city. It marked the start of new outpourings of the Holy Spirit throughout the land. They continued to pray for four months, spending 8 to 10 hours daily in prayer, accompanied by continual weeping. During prayer, the Lord gave prophetic words to the Bible school, saying He would fill the largest auditoriums and stadiums; these prophecies came at a time when the average congregation in Argentina consisted of only 30 people.
Those praying for revival tried to get a well-known healing evangelist to come to Argentina, but he was fully booked, and it seemed that he wasn't God's choice. A little-known healing evangelist, Tommy Hicks, received a word from God to go to Argentina. A friend of his later confirmed this. All he had was enough money for the plane ride to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. While sitting on the plane and praying silently, the Spirit of God spoke to him the word "Peron." Not knowing what that word meant, he asked the stewardess, who told him it was the name of the president of Argentina, Juan Peron. He concluded that he had to see the president.
The year was 1954. When Tommy Hicks arrived in Buenos Aires, he met with a committee organizing the evangelistic crusade. He told them that God had spoken to him about finding a stadium that could hold at least 25,000 people. The committee thought he was crazy, believing that 2500 would be too large for his meetings. They laughed when Tommy said that President Peron would give them the stadium. Peron was known to be intolerant and uncooperative with Christian leaders. Argentina was mainly Catholic, with a Protestant population of less than 2%. Peron was a dictator who closely watched every public meeting, and his wife, Evita, was deeply involved in occultism. But the Spirit of God prompted Tommy Hicks to boldly go to the presidential palace to see Peron, which seemed totally impossible...
